Yin Yoga

Yin yoga focuses on the connective tissues of the body through postures held in stillness and mindful awareness for several minutes at a time. A perfect complement to more yang styles of exercise – flow yoga, running, skiing or biking – Yin Yoga addresses tightness and toxin buildup in the joints and connective tissue through poses that are equally challenging for the mind and body.

The result is not only more lubricated and flexible joints but also a greater sense of balance, peace and calm. The use of various props make the practice accessible to people of all abilities.

Ideal class for all levels – appropriate for beginners and and those new to yoga.

All Levels

All Levels is an invigorating and accessible class designed to encourage students to strengthen their bodies and stretch their minds. Each class is unique  and includes breath and meditative awareness throughout.

An All Levels yoga practice focuses on purifying the body, calming the mind and opening the heart.

Ideal class for all levels – appropriate for beginners and and those new to yoga.

Restorative

Restorative flow is designed for all levels and everybody. This class will start with a short meditation and a restorative posture quieting the mind and slowing the nervous system, providing an opportunity for reconnecting with oneself.

Students with injuries, arthritis or other chronic conditions are welcome in these classes. Those with limitations related to age or size as well as students with a more vigorous yoga practice will benefit from these restorative techniques.

No prior yoga experience required.

YIN/VIN

Find balance in Yin-Vin as we play with opposites.

The class begins with Yin, as we stretch our connective tissues and deep fascial networks.

This meditative practice is focused on deep stretching, breathing, and relaxation.

From Yin we transition to a Yang (vinyasa) flow.

Vinyasa is a flowing, dynamic yoga practice that cultivates presence by connecting movement with breath.

Prop-timize your practice and use blocks, blankets, straps and bolsters that are provided. With support from the teacher,

 you can choose a beginner or advanced challenge level that feels right for you.

CHALLENGE FLOW

A class for those who are ready to explore more asanas and challenge themselves. While some yoga experience is helpful, this practice is modifiable for all levels and bodies. Come play around and expand your own practice at a faster pace.

RESTORATIVE NIDRA

Accessible by all bodies and levels, Restorative Yoga passively stretches muscles while being completely supported by props. Gentle and floor based,  you are able to relax into poses with lots of props and gentle touch.  You will also be guided through a Yoga Nidra practice (Yogic Rest) where you will settle into a place between wakefulness and sleep, finding a truly relaxing experience.

This class is a beginner class that is floor based. We generally begin with a short meditation and then spend time in gentle yoga.

SHAKTI SHAKE

This is a monthly medium intensity inspired fusion of yoga and tribal dance. Class combines cardio and Asana while centering on the intention of self love. Come shake it, release that Shakti, the embodiment of feminine energy. Learn to twerk it out, work on muscle group isolations, and flow to dance beats. Join us and let go all things that aren’t serving you.  Discover the therapeutic benefits of shaking, and tone that booty.

ABBY FENIX

SUNDARA YOGA AND SPIRITUAL CENTER

Sundara Yoga and Spiritual Center is about community. A place for this community has been created west of Berthoud. Here there is a wild flower field, a vegetable garden and coming in the near future a natural swimming pool/pond, a teepee, a fire pit for use at retreats and a gazebo for outdoor yoga. The studio is on yoga teacher Abby Fenix's property which instills a greater degree of serenity, loving calm and permanence than most commercial locales. In this peaceful space, people can release tension, discover more of who they are and ultimately learn to heal themselves through stillness, guided meditation and yoga. Creating a healing oasis in our modern lives, Sundara Yoga and Spiritual Center is being grown holistically. We are doing everything in our power to be organic and to leave as small a footprint as possible. Help us by bicycling, walking or carpooling to the Center. Discounts apply for students who use alternative transportation. We welcome energy work as well as all the healing arts. Meet Abby Fenix

Abby Fenix is a licensed teacher of Yin, Restorative, Hatha and Vinyasa styles of yoga (all low-impact.) In 2018 she will be adding Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep.)

Her soothing and steady voice allows everyone to feel supported and loved. Her gentle touch brings greater awareness to students' bodies.

Her great joy is to facilitate the energetic and vibrational exchange between everyone in the room for the duration of the session.
